Mental Maps are a point-of-view way of mapping something out. They are usually formed from a personal observations or perception of the world around them, and because of this, are very abstract representations of the real world since it is not created from hard information, but memories and ideas. This map is the author's own personal perspective on the town of Coral City, Illinois in the 1940's. He derived this map from his own personal experiences and observations in the city.
